Pui Saag or Malabar Spinach is something that is regularly consumed in all Bengali households, not as a delicacy- but as a fundamental side dish. Itās immense health benefits are very rarely discussed. Pui Saag is jam-packed with Vitamin A, C, calcium and iron. Pui saag is surprisingly as popular among non-vegetarians as vegetarians. Pui saag is often cooked with hilsa heads (ilish macher muro) and other vegetables to form a mixed dish called āchorchori.ā Vegetarians consume it with red pumpkins. Origin : Srilanka / Bangladesh
