Cardamom is a green spice plant known in Middle Eastern and Indian cuisine and belongs to a gingerĀ family. Green cardamom is consumed before it’s ripening stageĀ and therefore has a green colour. It is a more expensive and more valuable type of cardamom.
When added toĀ rice, justĀ a few whole seeds will provide a completely new dish and range of flavours. It is often mixed into curry powder and used for desserts like baklava. Chewing cardamom provides a pleasant taste in the mouth and is also good for teeth.
